These results may partially explain why Reelin signaling deficiency is associated with synaptic deficits observed in neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders such as schizophrenia and Alzheimer's disease (Folsom and Fatemi 2013; Krstic et al. 2013; Cuchillo‐Ibañez et al. 2016; Faini et al. 2021; Reive et al. 2024). This evidence concerns the gene RELN and Alzheimer disease.
