Critically, while in untreated animals the meninges were heavily infiltrated by leukemia cells as identified by hematoxylin and eosin, and CD19 staining of brain sections (infiltration grade >3/5), leukemia cells were not identified in the meninges of CD19-CD133 CAR-iNKT cell–treated animals (Figure 2J).
