Studies have found that in nasopharyngeal carcinoma stem cells (CSCs), PinX1 inhibited epithelial-mesenchymal transformation of nasopharyngeal carcinoma CD133-positive stem cells by regulating the transcriptional inhibition of Snail1, Twist1 and Zeb1 mediated by P53/mir-200b, thereby inhibiting cell proliferation, migration and invasion (24). This evidence concerns the gene PROM1 and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
