The IL6/ADPN/HMGB1 axis is a potential target for regulating communication between adipocytes and macrophages, promoting M2 polarization in macrophages (Zheng et al., 2024).Reducing macrophage infiltration and the expression of proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1β and IL-6) during myocardial infarction can be achieved by downregulating TRIM21, thereby preventing atrial inflammation and post-infarction remodeling (Figure 6) (Liu et al., 2023).
