The areas under the curve (AUCs) of the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves of CRP, PCT and the NRBC count for the prediction of sepsis in children were 0.746 [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.650–0.842], 0.868 [95% CI 0.818–0.912] and 0.923 [95% CI 0.857–0.944], respectively.
