Having found a decreased level of CD36 in RA FLS compared to NI FLS with similar expression levels of OCTN2, ACSL5, CPT1 and CPT2, we conclude that the enrichment of acylcarnitines in RA FLS is not caused by elevated levels of acylcarnitine-related transporters or enzymes. The gene discussed is SLC22A5; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
