On multivariate cox regression analysis adjusting for age, comorbid depression or anxiety, insurance payer type, race, neighborhood socioeconomic disadvantage, MGMT methylation status, IDH mutation status, treatment with chemotherapy, treatment with radiotherapy, extent of resection, and rurality, usage of any antidepressant (HR 1.57, 95%CI 1.38–1.78, p < .001) was associated with worse survival. This evidence concerns the gene MGMT and depressive symptom measurement.
