CCL2 and metabolic syndrome: As the protein CCL2 is known to contribute to the development of chronic inflammation and the development of the metabolic syndrome (Jiang et al., 2020), an increase in the Ccl2 mRNA abundance in the eWAT of CAP‐exposed female mice could reflect an initial step toward the development of insulin resistance observed after longer (24 weeks) exposures to concentrated PM in female mice (Li, Sun, et al., 2020).
