Previous studies have demonstrated that the T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain 3 (TIM-3) and TIGIT are co-expressed on NK cells from hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HBV-HCC) patients and their co-expression associates with T cell depletion, attenuated cytotoxicity and strongly correlates with disease progression [35]. This evidence concerns the gene TIGIT and hepatocellular carcinoma.
