To increase statistical power in detecting PCOS-associated variants, rare variants were also tested against quantitative traits related to PCOS, including testosterone (T), dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS), insulin, glucose, LH, FSH, and SHBG, integrated into a meta-statistic, allowing for the combination of multiple association tests while minimizing the penalty for multiple hypothesis testing.
