Our recent study revealed ribosomal protein S‐27 like (RPS27L) regulates skeletal myogenesis and is associated with meat production in pigs,[29] expanding beyond its recognized roles in apoptosis,[30] and neoplasia.[31] To further investigate the functions and regulatory mechanism of RPS27L in skeletal muscle development and growth, we generated muscle‐specific Rps27l knock‐in (M─KI) mice, given that homozygous Rps27l knockout in mice leads to early postnatal lethality.[30] We found that RPS27L functions as a positive regulator of skeletal muscle growth and regeneration.
