On the basis of epigenetic studies of non‐coding RNAs, researchers have identified key factors in CRC cells associated with the Warburg effect, including transcription‐related factors (KRAS, APC, c‐Myc, and HIF1‐α), metabolic product transport proteins (GLUTs), and glycolytic enzymes (HK2, PDK1, and LDH) [35]. This evidence concerns the gene HIF1A and colorectal carcinoma.
