MAP4K4, a serine/threonine protein kinase, stimulates cancer cell proliferation, invasion, and migration and is recently characterized as a novel MAPK/ERK pathway regulator (Gao et al., 2016; Gao et al., 2017; González-Montero et al., 2023) and negatively regulates RAS signaling by binding to Ras p21 protein activator 1 or RASA1 (Patterson et al., 2023; Roth Flach et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene MAPK1 and cancer.
