Interestingly, several upregulated DE genes were related to neurodegenerative diseases, such as genes related to Alzheimer’s disease: PSEN2, TREM2, and GAB2 [12–14]; Parkinson’s disease: ATP13A2 and DCTN1 [15]; and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: TAF15 and FUS [16, 17] (Supplementary material, Table S2 and Fig. S3). Here, TREM2 is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
