Luo et al. reported that the cGAS-STING pathway is activated in a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced mouse model of sepsis-associated acute kidney injury, and administration of the cGAS inhibitor RU.521 or the STING inhibitor DMXAA can alleviate renal damage in this model (Luo et al. 2024). This evidence concerns the gene CGAS and acute kidney injury.
