In lung cancer models, sertraline combined with erlotinib enhances autophagy and synergistic cell death [40], whereas in tumor necrosis factor‐related apoptosis‐inducing ligand (TRAIL)‐resistant cells, sertraline blocks autophagy, sensitizing them to death receptor 5 (DR5)‐mediated apoptosis [46].
