After 3 weeks of treatment with full dose (45 g/kg) of modified SJZ in mice with colorectal cancer, the expression level of GM-CSF in plasma and the number of splenic macrophages were significantly increased, and the nude mice had better body defenses and colorectal cancer survival rate, and the modified SJZ also reduced the hepatic metastasis of colorectal cancer by activating the innate immunity (221). This evidence concerns the gene CSF2 and colorectal cancer.
