Similarly, a trend toward an association with depression was noted for both the C allele (p = 0.070) and the AA genotype (p = 0.070), with statistical significance being reached in carriers of the AC genotype (p = 0.022), thereby supporting a potential involvement of FKBP5 polymorphisms in the pathophysiology of depressive symptoms (Table 7).
