Interleukin-2 receptor alpha (IL2RA) is integral to T-cell activation and regulatory T-cell maintenance; dysregulation of IL2RA has been documented in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as part of the shared inflammatory cytokine network seen across chronic lung diseases [22,23].
