We show for the first time a higher expression of ERα, ERβ, PR and AR in diffuse GC, as compared to intestinal GC, and the significant correlation in diffuse GC of ERα and PR with growth factor genes (IGF1, FGF7 and FGFR1), genes involved in the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT, among which VIM, ZEB2 and SLUG) and in cell migration (MMP2). This evidence concerns the gene ESR2 and gastric cancer.
