Studies have shown that the use of an Fabp4 inhibitor, at a dose of 50 mg/kg/day for 8 weeks, in combination with rosiglitazone (a drug used in type II diabetes, which acts as an insulin sensitizer), resulted in a reduction of rosiglitazone-induced hepatic steatosis in obese diabetic C57BL/KsJ db/db mice [56]. This evidence concerns the gene INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
