Since the identified associations between DAT dysfunction and neuropsychiatric disorders, DAT-KO animals are considered the models of such diseases as ADHD [32,33,34], obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), OCD-ADHD comorbidity [35], and schizophrenia [4,33,36,37], and can strongly influence motivational behavior [38,39]. This evidence concerns the gene SLC6A3 and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
