Morphometric analysis of thymus CD163+ macrophages revealed a significant 5.3- and 3.3-fold increase in this parameter after DNase I administration compared to healthy and tumor-bearing mice without treatment (10.7 ± 1.7 vs. 2.0 ± 0.5 and 3.2 ± 0.5, respectively, Figure 4C), indicating stimulation of the immune system not only by the tumor process, but also by treatment with DNase I (Figure 4A,C).
