In addition to causing significant cognitive deficits, PCP can also cause tachycardia, increased blood pressure, nystagmus (involuntary eye movement), acute rhabdomyolysis (the death of skeletal muscle fibers and their release into the bloodstream), myoglobinuria (myoglobin in the urine due to rhabdomyolysis), seizures, neurotoxicity, and death [67,78]. This evidence concerns the gene MB and pathologic nystagmus.
