CRP and hypertensive disorder: Conversely, dietary patterns rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, plant-based proteins, and unsaturated fats, such as those promoted by the Mediterranean or the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet, have demonstrated protective effects against CVD by improving lipid profiles [24], reducing oxidative stress [26], and lowering circulating inflammatory markers such as IL-6 and C-reactive protein (CRP) [26,27].
