The breadth of altered metabolic pathways of BRCA1-expressing breast cancer cells included downregulation of glycolysis, inhibition of HIF-1 signaling pathway, upregulation of phosphatidylserine (PtS) synthesis from base exchange with phosphatidylcholine (PtC) and other glycerophospholipid metabolism alterations, upregulation of glutathione (GSH) metabolism, decreased de novo nucleotide synthesis, and increase in arginine (Arg) metabolism. Here, BRCA1 is linked to breast cancer.
