Among obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), acute (Day 1) and short-term (Day 7) whey supplementation achieved beneficial effects in regulating glucose metabolism, as in OGTT, glucose remained stable (p = 0.02) and insulin sensitivity improved (p < 0.01) with whey supplementation, which was associated with upregulated glucagon secretion (p < 0.01) [78]. This evidence concerns the gene GCG and polycystic ovary syndrome.
