Both TFs, ELK1 and ETV1 belong to the ETS family and ETV1 was found to be elevated in HCC patients, being a poor prognosis factor and a metastasis driver by upregulating the expression of Protein-tyrosine kinase 2 (PTK2; also known as Focal adhesion kinase 1, FAK1) and MET proto-oncogene (MET; also known as Hepatocyte growth factor receptor, HGFR) [224]. The gene discussed is ETV1; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
