Chen et al. (2022) reported that SOCS2 expression promoted ferroptosis by facilitating the ubiquitination degradation of SLC7A11, which may increase the efficiency of HCC radiotherapy and improve patient prognosis. Triggering ferroptosis suppresses the proliferation of HCC cells, thereby reversing tumorigenesis, improving the efficacy of immunotherapy, and enhancing the anti-tumor immune response (Liu et al., 2024b). The gene discussed is SLC7A11; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
