FERMT2 and Alzheimer disease: CD2AP is a scaffolding molecule that regulates cytoskeletalmolecules and signal transduction, and its mutation has been implicatedin AD pathogenesis. Mutation in the FERMT2(also known as Kindlin-2), a protein involved in the regulation ofsynaptic plasticity and axonal growth, has been reported to directlymodulate the metabolism of APP and thus contribute to the developmentof AD.
