In the hippocampi and cortex of mice with KA-induced epilepsy, SH2D5 colocalized primarily with the neuronal marker protein NeuN but not with glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) (Figure 1A and Supplemental Figure 1A; supplemental material available online with this article; https://doi.org/10.1172/jci.insight.191347DS1). This evidence concerns the gene GFAP and epilepsy.
