A prospective, randomized, open-label (ratio 1:1) noninferiority trial conducted at the Department of Endocrinology, Shanghai, compared the safety and efficacy of canagliflozin, SGLT-2 inhibitors, to metformin in PCOS women with IR treated for 12 weeks. Both canagliflozin and metformin significantly improved menstrual patterns, reduced body weight and total fat mass, and decreased triglyceride levels. Here, SLC5A2 is linked to polycystic ovary syndrome.
