Many mushrooms, including the genera Pleurotus, Granola fronds, Agarics Bosporus and other mushrooms, have bioactive compounds that can act as ACE inhibitors and protect from cardiovascular diseases, and therapeutic and pharmaceutical applications of these mushrooms have proven that they are an excellent source to reduce the risk of hypertension, as supported by an in vitro studies (56).
