GPX4 and chronic kidney disease: Elevated HDAC3 levels and decreased glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) expression caused renal tubular epithelial ferroptosis, which was observed in mouse models induced by nephrotoxic aristolochic acid (AA) and folic acid (FA), from 3 d post-treatment in the AKI phase to 14 d post-injection CKD phase.
