To understand whether TBK1-regulated TAMs contribute to EMT, we examined the expression of EMT-related markers in breast cancer cells upon communicating with TAMs in the presence or absence of TBK1 inhibitor, BX795 hydrochloride (BX795) (31, 32), compound 1 (CMPD-1) (33), or amlexanox (Amlex) (34) (Fig. 2A).
