Intriguingly, Kaplan-Meier (KM) analyses showed that high MYC expression was significantly associated with poorer overall survival (OS) (p = 0.018) and progression-free survival (PFS) (p = 0.00052) in pRCC patients (Fig. 6b), but not in ccRCC patients (Extended Data Fig. 5c), suggesting a pronounced pathogenic role for MYC in specifically in pRCC. Here, MYC is linked to nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
