Klotho protein may indirectly participate in the complex regulation of the GH/IGF-1 axis such as affecting placental function, fetal pituitary axis, and fetal visceral development.Although the mechanisms need to be further researched, the current study suggests that GH/IGH-1 might have latent significance by changing Klotho protein levels for the pharmaceutical intervention of IUGR cases. This evidence concerns the gene GH1 and fetal growth restriction.
