While Yang et al. (2019) confirmed the prognostic value of inflammation markers in a multicenter study, they did not account for the immunosuppressive effects mediated by CD163+M2 macrophages via the PD-L1/IL-10 axis in the tuberculosis microenvironment (Quail and Joyce, 2013), potentially biasing PLR-specific assessments.
