We observed a significant increase in the number of c-Fos–positive neurons in several areas known to contribute to anxiety-like behavior, including the mPFC, BNST, paraventricular thalamic nucleus, basolateral amygdala, CeA, PVN, periaqueductal gray (PAG), and LPB (10) (Supplemental Figure 1; supplemental material available online with this article; https://doi.org/10.1172/JCI188246DS1).
