Reflecting the cardiac involvement that has been observed in MIS-C cases, levels of Troponin I, Troponin I3 kinase (TNNI3K), Extracellular newly identified receptor for advanced glycation end products binding protein (EN-RAGE) and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) were found to be increased in this MIS-C cohort, while ATP binding cassette subfamily B member 10 (ABCB10) is decreased in comparison to seropositive controls (Fig. 3E). This evidence concerns the gene TNNI3K and COVID-19–associated multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children.
