Multiple inflammasomes can be involved in IL-1β activation, including NLRP3, NLRP1, NLRC4, AIM2, IFI16 and RIG-I [56,57], however because GC B cells are not directly infected by influenza infection, we examined NLRP3 and AIM2 as they are activated by stimuli likely to be present in GC B cells.
