Building on these previous findings, we isolated brain‐derived tau oligomers (BDTOs) from post mortem brains of age‐matched AD patients and NDAN individuals to evaluate whether differences in the structural and functional properties of TauO polymorphs contribute to the cognitive resilience observed in NDAN, despite the presence of neurofibrillary tangles and Aβ plaques typically associated with clinically manifest AD. Here, MAPT is linked to Alzheimer disease.
