Sumedha et al. colleagues employed immunohistochemistry to measure andcompare the expression of Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) and cluster of differentiation 14 (CD14) in gingival tissues, revealing a strongassociation between TLR2 and CD14 expression levels and the severity grades of chronic periodontitis [18].To the best of our knowledge and available evidence, there is no clinical data on the expression of Lucien-rich alpha-2 glycoprotein inthe gingival tissues. This evidence concerns the gene CD14 and periodontitis.
