Of the four positional candidate genes located on BTA22 and associated with BRD in the recessive model, the BRD-associated SNPs were located in an intron of EOGT, within an intron of FAM19A4, within exon 2 of TMF1, and within exon nine of UBA3. EOGT expression is elevated in immune cells that target cancer, but results in immune suppression via reduced numbers of cytotoxic T cells (78). The gene discussed is EOGT; the disease is cancer.
