TLR4 is the major receptor for LPS and is critical for endotoxin‐induced liver injury.[26] Upon endotoxin stimulation, TLR4/NFκB signaling rapidly triggers a potent innate immune response, resulting in the expression and release of a large variety of inflammatory mediators.[20] Thus, targeting the TLR4‐mediated NFκB pathway may be a way to alleviate endotoxin‐induced liver failure. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and Hepatic failure.
