Our data showed that vericiguat attenuated MIRI by reducing myocardial infarct size, mitigating cardiomyocyte apoptosis, lowering the release of myocardial markers (CK-MB, LDH, and cTnI) and inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, ICAM-1, TNF-α), promoting the protein expression of Bcl-2, and down-regulating the protein levels of BAX. Despite these findings, the specific molecular mechanisms underlying vericiguat have yet to be thoroughly investigated. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is myocardial infarction.
