The recently published EAACI guidelines for the diagnosis of IgE‐mediated food allergy [10] recommend a stepwise approach to food allergy diagnosis, with the first steps being history and SPT or sIgE to allergen extracts and subsequent steps including sIgE to individual allergens and the basophil activation test (BAT) before patients are referred for OFCs.
