CRP and pneumonia: The diagnosis of pneumonia in children is assessed using clinical findings (dyspnea, accelerated respiratory rate, respiratory distress, abnormal respiratory sounds), biological findings (inflammatory markers: C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), total leukocyte and neutrophil count, gas analysis) and imaging of the lung (LUS and/or CXR) [18,22,23].
