TLR2 and neuroblastoma: In human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells, argon preconditioning dose-dependently attenuated rotenone-induced apoptosis [51], with 2 h 74% argon exposure decreasing the Toll-like receptor 2/4 (TLR2/4) surface expression, enhancing extracellular regulated protein kinase (ERK1/2) phosphorylation while reducing NF-κB and Akt activation, suppressing mitochondrial apoptosis and the heat shock response, and inhibiting interleukin-8 expression.
