FERMT2 and breast carcinoma: Defects in cell spreading in Kindlin-2-depleted cells have been reported in primary dermal fibroblasts, immortalized human keratinocytes, as well as in prostate and in breast carcinoma cells [21,33,34,35], highlighting potential differences in Kindlin-2 functions that may depend not only on the tissue type but also on the transformation status of cells within a given tissue.
